The Production Team
Veronica has worked with St. Augustine's Musical Theatre Company for many years - initially as a performer and then also as Assistant to previous Producer Christine Bishop. Following Christine's death in 1994, Veronica took over fully as Producer and Director and the 2024 production of Oliver! will be her 41st in that role with this company. Trained in ballet, she has also worked as choreographer. Veronica is married to Tony, the company's Stage Manager.
Michelle King has joined StagMTC for Oliver!, her first production as Musical Director, at Artrix, Bromsgrove in November this year.
Michelle is Head of Creative Arts at Sandwell College and previously worked at Guilford School of Acting (GSA) and was lead singing and voice teacher at Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA).
Michelle took her first MD role back in 2001 for a production of Company and has since gone on to MD countless shows including Merrily We Roll Along at The Crescent Theatre, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Little Women and The Witches of Eastwick at The Old Rep Theatre, Birmingham, Rock of Ages at The Albany Theatre in Coventry and most recently Chicago and 9 to 5.
Back in 2006, Michelle played Cinderella in St Augustine's own production of Into The Woods, so we're hugely excited to welcome Michelle back to the Company as a part of our production team for Oliver!
Sharyn is a professional dancer, choreographer and teacher. Having been Choreographer for a number of productions with the Company several years ago, Sharyn returned to be Choreographer for our 2019 show - The Producers, worked on Kipps in 2022, Shrek the Musical in 2023 and continues for the 2024 production of Oliver!. Since her time previously with Stags, Sharyn has worked hard to achieve further teaching degrees in all genres of dance and is now a Fellow of the International Dance Teachers' Association (IDTA). Sharyn is also an adjudicator for regional and national competitions, and for Theatre Dance Council International (TCDI) Championships.
Sharyn runs a successful dance school, recently relocated to Solihull - TWDA Performing Arts, which continues to go from strength to strength. Sharyn's most recent work as Choreographer is for the pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk for Little Wolf Productions at Artrix Theatre Bromsgrove.
Tony has worked with St. Augustine's Musical Theatre Company on both the technical and performing sides. In June 2002 he played the role of Colonel von Strohm in 'Allo 'Allo and he recently returned to the stage as Uncle Bert in our 2022 production of Kipps. Tony has been Stage Manager for many of St. Augustine's MTC productions including South Pacific, Robin, Prince of Sherwood, West Side Story and Stepping Out, Kiss Me, Kate. Sister Act, 9 to 5, Fiddler on the Roof, Hairspray, The Producers, and Kipps. Tony also appeared as Senex in our production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and more recently as Uncle Bert in our 2022 production of Kipps.
